e it’s October. Literally, it feels like yesterday we ran into our friends at Barnett Vineyards enjoying a casual Labor Day brunch on the patio at Solage, and today the SF Giants are gearing up to face the Reds in the MLB Playoffs. In retrospect, the only explanation can be that September was better than advertised. What has quickly become the theme to Napa Valley 2012, the weather continues to be perfect. Exceptional even. I continue to knock on wood, thinking that in some way that will be the underlying secret to continuing these beautiful conditions.
Napa Valley Life Magazine, November issue featured Elizabeth Marston and NG: The Next Generation in Wine on the cover:
"Elizabeth Marston always knew she would return to her family’s vineyards on Spring Mountain. As one of the founding member of NG, Marston arrived back in St. Helena via a career in publishing, years in London and a serious passionate study for classic literature. Now she is the sole full-time employee at Marston Family Vineyard, wearing many hats from production to marketing. She says that “learning the importance of relationships in all aspects of business and how to properly multitask” are some of the key ingredients that make her successful today, and were learned in her prior career. As Vice President of Spring Mountain AVA, Marston shares that being part of NG “is reminiscent of past generations where there was commodore in sharing tractors or referring vendors, and it’s nice that that isn’t lost. That’s very special.”

The 2012 harvest season kicked off with our Albion picked on Tuesday, September 11th!

Our much anticipated third release of our Companion White Wine is finally here! Our 2011 Marston Family Vineyard Albion is available winery direct with only 125 cases made. | We knew our mountain Cabernet cellared beautifully, however James Laube of The Wine Spectator wrote that our 2007 Cabernet is "Best from 2012 through 3022"(!)... 1000 years of aging potential- appreciate the enthusiasm! |
