MARSTON FAMILY VINEYARD 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon

Our 2007 vintage marks the tenth release with our highly acclaimed winemaker, Philippe Melka. The stony mountain soils provide an environment that intensifies the flavors of the fruit while producing smaller fruit clusters and berry size.

Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate:

"The 2007 Marston Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon offers sumptuously sweet black and blue fruits along with notions of licorice, charcoal, and incense in an elegant, full-bodied, beautifully textured style. A terrific mid-palate, sweet tannins, and a long, pure finish suggest this beauty will drink well for 15+ years." (Rated 91-93 points)

Wine Spectator:

"Firm and intense, this is marked by loamy earth, dried currant, berry pie, black licorice and roasted herb flavors, providing a complex range of flavors... Best from 2012 through 3022."

(Rated 91 points) –James Laube

MARSTON FAMILY VINEYARD 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon
The 2006 Marston Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits a deep, dark saturated color; the bouquet is complex, full of intense aromatics of crushed stone, blueberry, flowers, cassis and licorice. The wine is full-bodied; the integration of wood, acidity, tannin and alcohol is well balanced. The wine is a classic expression of Cabernet Sauvignon from the Spring Mountain District, dense and full of sweet tannins and great minerality that is characteristic of Marston.

Wine News Magazine TOP CALIFORNIA WINE OF 2009: Rated 98 points

"Intense inky hue with a black garnet rim… Zaftig blackberry and raspberry fruit flavors with notes of graphite, baker’s chocolate and drying, fine-grain tannins… An exceptional, well-made Cab and a prime example of Spring Mountain fruit at its best." (Winter 2010)

Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate: Rated 92-95 points (Drink: 2007 - 2022)
"The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon is even more impressive.
The tannins are sweeter, the acids slightly lower, and the wine just oozing with black currant and blueberry fruit intermixed with hints of acacia flower, anise, and some underbrush. A wine of great intensity and beautiful purity in a flowery, mountain berry style, it is opulent, full-bodied, and long. This wine will be delicious upon release and drink gorgeously for 15+ years."

“This wine showcases the distinction of the specific blocks we select and cultivate by hand. Blocks 3A, 3C and 6A are the heart of the vineyard expressing the very best characteristics of the Marston mountain fruit. Though Marston Family Vineyard is part of the Spring Mountain Appellation, it has its own unique microclimate due to the location sitting south easterly facing, exhibits dark berry fruits and is harvested later than most other vineyards in Napa Valley.
